A broadcast media executive with more than 15 years’ experience in business transformation and management, Rebecca Kent has led project teams and business strategy across Europe, the United States and in the Asia-Pacific region.
Kent joined Discovery Communications in 2013 as Vice President, Global Business Operations and was instrumental in managing the integration of newly acquired businesses. In 2016, Rebecca was appointed Vice President, Business Operations, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, leading the Business Transformation, PMO and Ad Sales Operations teams. Most recently in 2017, Rebecca took on the role of Vice President, General Manager – Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands.
With a strong background in business development and change management, Rebecca is experienced in optimising operational and integrative processes, developing strategic initiatives and commercial strategies to drive growth in alignment with business objectives.
In her current GM role, Rebecca also oversees Discovery’s operations in Australia, New Zealand and across the Pacific Islands, and is responsible for the strategic direction and management of Discovery’s business initiatives and future growth opportunities for the product portfolio of over 13 brands. These include global brands such as Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Turbo, Food Network, HGTV, and Eurosport.
